HER DEVELOPMENT. TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

CLEAR COACHING

APPROPRIATE CHALLENGE

ROOM TO GROW

BUILD THE FOUNDATION. ELEVATE THE PLAYER.

More than confidence.
Skills she can build on.

Confidence matters. So does knowing what to do when the game speeds up. We connect clear explanations, purposeful practice and specific feedback so players understand their game and have a practical way to improve it.

01 / LEARN THE DETAIL

Make the basics reliable.

Passing, catching, carrying, movement and tackle technique. Learn how a skill works, why it matters and how to practise it with purpose.

02 / UNDERSTAND THE GAME

Make better decisions.

Recognise space, communicate and understand your role. Build the connection between individual skills and what the game asks of you.

03 / BUILD ON ABILITY

Turn feedback into progress.

Identify the next useful improvement, work on the detail and apply it under an appropriate level of challenge.

A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT. CLEAR STANDARDS.

A place to belong.
A place to thrive.

Her effort deserves to be taken seriously. We build an environment where girls can ask questions, learn from mistakes and support each other—while being challenged to improve.

That means explaining the why, listening to the player and giving feedback she can use. Kindness and ambition belong together. So do encouragement and clear expectations.

TACKLE TECHNIQUE & GAME UNDERSTANDING

Contact skills deserve
proper teaching.

Players arrive with different levels of contact experience. We make time to explain technique, build it through progressive practice and give specific feedback from an experienced coaching eye.

The aim is purposeful repetition: understanding positioning, movement and control, then applying those skills at a challenge level that suits the player. Quality practice matters more than simply doing more contact.

Why this deserves attention: research on the 2018–2020 NRLW recorded approximately 13 head-impact events per 1,000 tackles. Head impacts are not all diagnosed concussions, and these adult competition figures are not a risk estimate for teenage players. Coaching cannot remove concussion risk. Read the study ↗

DIFFERENT STARTING POINTS. THE SAME CARE.

The right challenge
for where she is now.

Some girls start later. Some have the athletic ability but need help turning it into rugby league skills. Others are already playing and looking for more. We start with the player in front of us.

SPACE TO LEARN & GROW

Finding her feet

She doesn’t need to have it all worked out. Whether she’s new to league or still building confidence, clear teaching and patient, purposeful practice can give her a stronger starting point.

  • Build familiarity with the ball and the game.
  • Learn the foundations of movement and tackle technique.
  • Ask questions, practise and grow in confidence.

PURPOSE. DETAIL. PROGRESSION.

Raise her
game

She’s playing, she’s motivated and she wants to improve. We help her identify what needs work, sharpen her skills and respond to greater challenge with purpose.

  • Refine technique and make skills more reliable.
  • Develop decisions, communication and game awareness.
  • Use feedback to work towards her next goals.

Starting points, not fixed categories. Players develop at different speeds. We use experience, confidence and readiness to guide coaching, practice and grouping—giving each player support and an appropriate challenge. She can build foundations and pursue bigger goals at the same time.

ONE S2S FAMILY

Girls’ development.
Part of the bigger picture.

S2S Girls Academy brings a clear focus to girls’ development within our coaching programmes. Explore school holiday clinics and preseason opportunities, then speak with us about the available group and format that fit your daughter.

Locations, age groups and girls-only session availability depend on the programme. Confirm the right option with S2S before booking.

FOR PARENTS & CARERS

A clear starting point.

She started later. Is there a place for her?

Yes—starting later does not mean she has to miss out on development. Tell us her age, experience and what she wants to improve so we can discuss an appropriate available group and starting point.

Does she need to be a representative player?

No. A willingness to learn and work on her development matters. Players aiming for representative opportunities can build skills and habits towards those goals; selection is not guaranteed.

Are “Finding her feet” and “Raise her game” separate programmes?

They describe how we cater to different starting points, rather than two fixed programmes or labels. Coaching and grouping reflect the player’s experience, confidence and readiness within the available session.

Are all sessions girls-only?

Session formats vary by programme and location. Ask S2S about the available girls group and coaching arrangement before booking. The Girls Academy page focuses on ages 12–17; younger girls can explore the appropriate junior or Minis options.
